Erik Gaines
Just trying to be Williamsburg famous
Since 2021, Williamsburg-based singer-songwriter Erik Gaines has been a regular on stages around Virginia's Historic Triangle, with a voice that cuts straight to the heart of a room. "Known for his soulful vocals and captivating acoustic sound," says Copper Fox Distillery, "Erik blends heartfelt originals with fresh takes on your favorite covers."
His sound pulls from southern rock, country, folk and blues, shaped by artists like JJ Grey & Mofro, Wilson Pickett and Chuck Ragan. Growing up near Nashville, a close friend gave him one piece of advice that stuck: "write about what you know." His original songs, including the single "Ironbound," come from his own life and the corner of Virginia he calls home.
You can find Erik at breweries, distilleries and private events from Williamsburg to Gloucester and Charles City. Copper Fox calls it "an unforgettable live performance by Williamsburg-based singer/songwriter Erik Gaines," and adds, "this is a show you won't want to miss."
